Isaiah 61:1-3 - [1]The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; [2]To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; [3]To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. Even though God has allowed me to pursue this venue for the last seven years, I still wondered what my reason for going through my experiences at CFCMI meant in regards to the big picture. I even asked my pastor at my home church why I went through college courses in radio/television communication and learned various forms of computer software when I wound up in the Navy and work a job where I work more with my hands than behind a desk. That was back in March of 2010. Tonight, following a sermon on seeking God's direction, the pieces of that puzzle were made clear. The college courses and computer skills were not so I could beceome rich and famous, but so I could learn the skills needed to reach those who have been wounded by spiritually abusive environments. The military experience was a training ground where I learned to reach and interact with all manner of people, and it was blessed by the Lord. The current job situation is not the calling, but as in the case of the apostle Paul, a means to pay the bills and support myself so I can continue the work He has placed in my hands. In no way am I saying I am like Paul...not even close. The CFCMI experience was part of a path God used to lead me into His truth; they knew a good portion of it, but when the sin was revealed and the organization chose to live in their sin, God led me out into a deeper relationship and knowledge of Him. Proverbs 29:18 - Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Matthew 5:43-45 - [43]Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. [44]But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; [45]That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. I give Jesus praise and glory for answering this prayer and question. The purpose for this website, along with those on MySpace and Facebook, is to reach others who have been wounded by spiritually abusive environments. The mission: to let other wounded sheep know that Jesus is still God, and His truth is sure, despite the wounds suffered from abuse. It is also to show one can cling to the good principles taught in God's word, and pray for those still in that environment - including those in leadership - yet denouncing the sin that caused the abuse in the first place. God has blessed over the years, and has brought me through challenges and controversy concerning this matter. Spiritual abuse, like other forms of abuse, is not a pleasant subject. Others, both current and former members, have criticized me and accused me of spreading lies. Some who were abused were so badly hurt by their experiences they refuse to attend church anymore, even to the place where they no longer profess a belief in God. This is not a glamorous ministry, nor is one that will draw big crowds. However, every time a soul is brought into a fuller joy and liberty in Christ makes this mission more than worth the effort and sacrifice. Lord Jesus, I need your guidance and strength through Your Holy Ghost to further this mission and lead other souls to Your liberty. In Jesus' Name, Amen. |
